Trial Lawyer

Graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2006 and immediately began trying cases.  He tries all types of cases including criminal, domestic, and civil. Both successes and failures in the courtroom over the past 13 years have seasoned him into an experienced trial attorney.

Training

Shane has always been an avid reader most notably of trial skills and trial-related books.  He has attended multiple sessions of Roger Dodd’s trial skills clinics, completed trial institutes by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA), and completed the basic and expert courses offered by the National Trial Academy in Houston Texas.  He has attended and completed seminars and CLE’s across the nation on all topics of trial advocacy skills including opening statements, closing arguments, cross-examinations, direct examinations, evidence, working with expert witnesses, depositions and many others, including CLE’s by the Trial Lawyers College and by Trial Guides.

Recognition

He has been recognized by his peers as being a member of Best Lawyers, being A.V. rated by Martindale Hubble, and named as a Super Lawyer for the last two years. Locally he has also been recognized by the Attorney of the Year by the Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Section in 2016.

Teaching and Writing

For the past several years Shane has taught trial advocacy skills all across the state of Oklahoma and also in Washington D.C. and Las Vegas.  As an author, he has had numerous articles published by the Oklahoma Bar Journal and the Tulsa Lawyer.  He has written and presented multiple CLE presentation materials. Shane also has been quoted by national news outlets (CNN) regarding the issues of Family Law.

Certifications

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, certified as a trial advocacy instructor by Stetson University College of Law and by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and is licensed to practice in Oklahoma and Texas.

Firms 

He is a co-founder with famed national trial lawyer Roger Dodd of the law firm of Dodd & Henry which focuses on personal injury and criminal cases.  He is also the senior partner of Henry+Dow which focuses on domestic cases.
