AAML Oklahoma Fellows Jon Hester, Laura McConnell, and Catherine Petersen were presenters at the Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Section Continuing Legal Education seminar “Money, Money, Money” on August 26, 2016. Mr. Hester spoke on the topic of how to present and defend a support alimony case. Ms. McConnell presented on how to discover and evaluate oil and gas assets, and the topic of Ms. Petersen’s presentation was discovering assets and income by examining tax returns.

Melissa Cornell will be speaking at the National Business Institute’s Practical Course on Advanced Issues in Family and Divorce Law on November 3, 2016. Ms. Cornell’s presentation is titled “View of Thorny Custody Issues”.

Chapter Fellow David Tracy will attend the AAML Advanced Strategic Collaborative Training Seminar in Chicago, Illinois September 15-18, 2016.  The seminar is an advanced course for lawyers, mental health professionals and financial professionals practicing collaborative law.

Moura Robertson was a speaker and mentor at the 2016 Trial Advocacy Institute (TIA) sponsored by the Family Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association in Oklahoma City held July 31 – August 6, 2016. The topic of her presentation was case planning and direct examination of parties and witnesses. As a mentor, she critiqued participant performance and provided instruction and practical advice to improve their trial skills.
